dc.description.abstractLa presente investigación ha tenido como objetivo analizar la relación existente de la implementación de la Preparación de la Inteligencia del Campo de Batalla (PICB) en el planeamiento de operaciones de pasaje de curso de agua. La problemática que se ha encontrado radica en que se tiene que la doctrina actual de la PICB no está adecuada para realizar el análisis del terreno, evaluación de las condiciones meteorológicas y sobre todo el curso de acción del enemigo para este tipo de operaciones en medios acuáticos. En tal sentido la uno de los objetivos de esta investigación es la de presentar soluciones para poder llenar esos vacíos doctrinales y optimizar las acciones de planeamiento militar en las operaciones de pasaje de curso de agua. En esta tesis se ha empleado el enfoque cualitativo con las técnicas de recolección de datos como la entrevista a expertos y la revisión documental. Una de las conclusiones más importantes que el análisis del terreno es un factor fundamental para un pasaje de curso de agua exitoso, este análisis debe de tener mucho cuidado en los aspectos generales e inclusive son de mayor prioridad que el análisis de los factores militares del terreno. Es importante determinar las orillas y los bancos de arena ya que en esos lugares se establece el inicio y el final del pasaje; asimismo se debe de tener el grado de compactación para verificar si soportara el paso de vehículos. The present research aimed to analyze the existing relationship between the implementation of the Intelligence Preparation of the Battlefield (PICB) in the planning of water crossing operations. The problem identified lies in the fact that the current PICB doctrine is not adequately suited to conduct terrain analysis, evaluation of meteorological conditions, and especially the enemy’s course of action for this type of operation in aquatic environments. In this regard, one of the objectives of this research is to present solutions to fill these doctrinal gaps and optimize military planning actions in water crossing operations. This thesis employed a qualitative approach, using data collection techniques such as expert interviews and document review. One of the most important conclusions is that terrain analysis is a fundamental factor for a successful water crossing; this analysis must be carried out with great care regarding general aspects, which are even of higher priority than the analysis of military terrain factors. It is important to determine the riverbanks and sandbanks, since these are the locations where the beginning and end of the crossing are established; likewise, the degree of soil compaction must be determined to verify whether it will support the passage of vehicles.
